Recently published poems

My visual poem, "After Losing Her Job During Covid-19," was published in the Winter 2021 issue of Bramble. The poem's shape and opening lines take inspiration from an actual four-leaf clover (pictured below) that I found on my hill during the pandemic. The college where I had taught for a number of years had recently announced its closure, and it seemed unlikely and odd to find a symbol of good luck without looking for one.

I'm also grateful to have two poems included in the anthology Sheltering with Poems: community & connection during COVID (Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets and Bent Paddle Press, 2021).
